In this chapter we discuss how The Antichrist has been understood in English and German -language accounts of it. Earlier studies have in general regarded it as a less successful and far too polemical critique of Christianity. Most studies have completely ignored (or denied) its relation to the planned four-volume magnum opus, Revaluation of All Values that it was part of, or have claimed that in the end it constituted the full magnum opus. Most studies merely give a paraphrase of the work, or discuss some of its critique of Christianity.

In this chapter we discuss how The Antichrist has been understood in English and German -language accounts of it.
