This chapter is dedicated to teachingteaching and will address pedagogypedagogy, but the primary focus when considering the impact of generative AI on the classroom is the discord sown between students and educators. Again, fractures in this critical relationship were visible long before fall of 2022, but the crisis of the COVID19COVID19 pandemic and the emergence of generative AI have turned a bad situation into a toxic one. We have an opportunity to course correct now in response to generative AI that could have long-lasting positive ramifications beyond the current AI discussion.
