Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionising diagnostics. It is already possible for Machine Learning models to accurately identify conditions from radiographic images; to answer medical questions effectively, and to combine different data sources to reach a diagnosis. This chapter explores the progress that has been made incorporating Artificial Intelligence into the diagnostic process, including its application to interpreting patient signs and symptoms, radiology and a combination of these and other inputs. This chapter also discusses some of the considerations and challenges facing the field and seeks to answer the question of whether AI is ready to replace clinicians.
