This paper analyzes the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on intellectual property rights (IPRs), as well as the evolutionary effects which occur as a result of such influence. This paper begins by exploring the historical development of IPRs and the evolution of AI, with particular reference to AI-influenced growing copyrighted works, its role in patent innovation, and its impact on trademarks. The comparative evaluation of international jurisprudence regarding some of the most relevant and contemporary cases which include Thaler v. Hirshfeld, the copyright lawsuits of major record labels in the music industry and the controversy with Google’s Project Nightingale, simultaneously tend to reveal a range of legal responses to these increasing challenges. The paper similarly addresses the ethical implications and issues which occur from the influence of AI in the field of IP, based on which there is a need for reforms in the legal framework for the protection of IPRs. Through this comprehensive analysis, looking forward to future legal trends, recommendations are proposed.
