The Weight of Microaggressions: Daily Battles That Erode Leadership and Belonging
摘要
This chapter explores the pervasive impact of microaggressions on Black women leaders in education. Beginning with definitions and forms of microaggressions, the chapter examines how these everyday slights compound to create barriers to leadership, belonging, and influence. It then examines the emotional labor and affective load that Black women must carry as they navigate spaces shaped by racialized and gendered assumptions. Finally, the chapter highlights the strategies of endurance and defiance employed to survive, resist, and transform these conditions.
