Through Justice by Design, this chapter presents a reinterpretation of how equitable and institutional change could be attained in K–12 education. Inspired by the lived experiences of Black women educational leaders, it reinforces CRIA (Contextually Responsive Intersectional Analysis) as a method that accepts complexity, context, and cultural truth and transcends technical remedies. Intersectionality, systemic awareness, empathy, and belief in underrepresented voices are essential data within improvement science.
