What Are the Components of Well-Being?
摘要
There are cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components of well-being, which often interact and impact one another. The cognitive components include life satisfaction, work-life balance, self-esteem, and self-ratings. The emotional components include positive emotions, like happiness, which indicate our needs are being met, and negative emotions, like anxiety and depression, which indicate that our needs are not being met or are perceived as threatened. The behavioral component involves being able to engage in productive behaviors that meet needs, achieve goals, and are purposeful and meaningful. These behaviors may involve seeking answers to existential questions, whose answers may be expressed in various types of storytelling. Imagination, stress, mental health, and physical health are also related to well-being.
