Given the growth of home care in Brazil and worldwide, this study proposes a Health Technology Management (HTM) program tailored to the home care context. The proposal was developed based on a literature review, analysis of regulatory guidelines, and reported adverse events, highlighting technical and operational risks in the home use of medical devices, such as CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). It also points out that simply transferring hospital-based models does not address the specific characteristics of the home environment. The model was developed based on the HTM framework of the Biomedical Engineering Institute at Federal University of Santa Catarina (IEB-UFSC), which is structured around three pillars: technology, infrastructure, and human resources. Key elements of the proposal include device traceability, continuous performance evaluation, accessible training for users and caregivers, and the implementation of risk management strategies. The study highlights the strategic role of Clinical Engineering (CE) as a link between different healthcare professionals, fostering the integration of technology and patient safety. The proposal also incorporates the use of digital technologies, such as remote monitoring and support platforms. Future perspectives include validating the model in home care services, developing specific indicators, and creating accessible educational materials for users. The model aims to promote safer, more effective, and quality-of-life-centered home care.
