The design and evaluation of serious games aimed at motor rehabilitation require methodological tools to assess their quality and therapeutic validity. This study presents the development and application of a heuristic framework based on attentional engagement and motor learning facilitation principles. The framework was applied to a serious game designed for upper limb training in a rehabilitation context. The results identified design elements that influence attentional engagement and contribute to motor learning facilitation. The usefulness of this tool is discussed in terms of guiding design decisions and strengthening the connection between neuroscientific theory and practice in the development of therapeutic video games.

摘要

The design and evaluation of serious games aimed at motor rehabilitation require methodological tools to assess their quality and therapeutic validity. This study presents the development and application of a heuristic framework based on attentional engagement and motor learning facilitation principles. The framework was applied to a serious game designed for upper limb training in a rehabilitation context. The results identified design elements that influence attentional engagement and contribute to motor learning facilitation. The usefulness of this tool is discussed in terms of guiding design decisions and strengthening the connection between neuroscientific theory and practice in the development of therapeutic video games.
