The diamond industry faces significant challenges in authenticating, certifying, and managing the quality of diamonds due to the limitations of traditional methods. This paper explores the integration of blockchain technology to address these issues. By employing encrypted Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), smart contracts, and the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), we propose a model for diamond quality management that enhances transparency, security, and traceability. The study includes a comparative analysis of transaction fees across four Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible platforms–BNB Chain, Fantom, Polygon, and Celo–to evaluate their cost-efficiency for deploying blockchain-based solutions. Additionally, the effectiveness of various encryption algorithms is assessed to ensure the secure management of diamond quality records.
