Hindu philosophies are rich, vast, and among the oldest in terms of philosophical/spiritual knowledge. Advaita Vedanta is discussed in detail in this chapter to show that Advaita Vedanta practices/knowledge too can lead to the awakening (where Moksha is the Hindu-specific term) and the realization of ultimate reality. The chapter covers content related to Brahman (Nirguna and Saguna), principal Upanishads that were interpreted by Adi Shankara (as well as four “minor” Upanishads), Ramana Maharshi, and areas of overlap between Advaita Vedanta and Buddhist teachings. The discussion on consciousnessConsciousness that was left incomplete in Chap. 6 is completed as well. Overall, Advaita Vedanta offers yet another unique path that shows some overlap with Buddhist teachings, can lead to the realization of ultimate reality, and can lead to significant improvements in mental health.

摘要
