Cervical dystonia, also known as spasmodic torticollis, is a neurological disorder that causes involuntary muscle contractions in the neck, leading to abnormal head postures and movements. In addition to dystonic contractions, pain, fatigue, balance and coordination disorders, and difficulty walking may occur in patients with cervical dystonia. Patients experience secondary social isolation, a decrease in activities of daily living, and a decrease in quality of life. For this reason, rehabilitation practices and psychological interventions are extremely important in the treatment of cervical dystonia as well as medical treatments. Rehabilitation interventions include exercise, extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), EMG biofeedback, transcranial magnetic stimulation, vibration therapy, and kinesio taping. Although there is not much literature for rehabilitation interventions, the existing literature supports that these practices have an impact on patients symptoms and quality of life.
