Vestibular rehabilitation practices are used in both peripheral and central vestibular system diseases. Vestibular rehabilitation is based on activating adaptive and compensatory mechanisms in the human brain. Its indications are extensive, and it is especially recommended for stable vestibular system lesions whose compensation mechanism has not yet been completed. Specific treatment methods in vestibular rehabilitation can be listed as habituation, adaptation, substitution, and otolith repositioning. Strengthening particular muscle groups related to walking and balance and endurance exercises are nonspecific methods. With the development of technology, different methods, such as vibrotactile feedback, virtual reality, and vestibular electrical stimulation, can be used in vestibular rehabilitation. Vestibular rehabilitation is useless in the presence of fluctuating vestibular losses, unstable labyrinth pathologies, and a slowly progressing tumor.
