Without Words: Dance in Public Health and Societal Wellbeing

This chapter presents an arc of innovative work conducted in 2010–2024, creating dance videos to address significant medical and societal challenges. The videos extended over a broad range of topics, such as proper cleaning of hospital rooms, bullying and suicide awareness, and rehabilitation processes for Parkinson’s disease, Downs syndrome, and aging issues. In this chapter, the author describes the in-depth initiation process, methodology, results, and national and international dissemination of dance as the means of communication and awareness in cleaning patient high touch surface, and bullying, Dating Violence, Suicide Awareness, Human Sex Trafficking, Parkinson’s Disease, Down Syndrome, and Ageing Issues of Senior Citizens. These video projects achieved a high degree of success in medical and social education gaining awareness of the impact of dance as a tool to contribute to public health and societal well-being.
