In Chapter 7 I take the Obligation de quitter le territoire français (OQTF, Obligation to Leave French Territory) and the Interdiction du territoire français (ITF, Interdiction from French territory) as points of departure for discussing migrant detainability and deportability. Attempts to regularize, I argue, can intensify the experience of being detainable and deportable, but experiences of being detainable and deportable can also engender temporal practices of resistance and evasion. The final site of resistance and attempts to evade detention and deportation is often the migrants’ body.

摘要

In Chapter 7 I take the Obligation de quitter le territoire français (OQTF, Obligation to Leave French Territory) and the Interdiction du territoire français (ITF, Interdiction from French territory) as points of departure for discussing migrant detainability and deportability. Attempts to regularize, I argue, can intensify the experience of being detainable and deportable, but experiences of being detainable and deportable can also engender temporal practices of resistance and evasion. The final site of resistance and attempts to evade detention and deportation is often the migrants’ body.
