Objectives and Methodology
摘要
In this chapter, the research objectives of this book are presented, aligned with the developed methodology. The objectives are threefold: to conduct a geomorphological study and inventory of geomorphosites in Natural Protected Areas (NPAs) in the Castilla y León region; to design a method for assessing geomorphosites and their didactic potential, defined as their suitability for educational use in teaching Earth Sciences; and, finally, to propose dissemination, planning, and management actions tailored to the specific needs and potential of each study area in order to promote the valorization, appreciation, and conservation of geomorphological heritage. The methodology of this research outlines the following research phases: (1) study of geomorphological heritage and inventory of geomorphosites, based on desk work and fieldwork conducted by expert geomorphologists; (2) development of geomorphological maps, useful for understanding the heritage elements or sites of a specific territory, as it also allows for establishing interrelationships with other geomorphological or cultural elements; (3) implementation of the educational potential assessment method, so geomorphosites can be resources for formal education; and (4) evaluation of tourism potential and design of a geotourism map, aiming to provide elements for enjoyment, leisure, and learning about geomorphology.
