Crime and deviance are rooted in social pathology. However, behaviours that are viewed as socially undesirable often play a crucial role in norm regulation. Crime and deviant behaviour, along with strategies to reduce such behaviours, can differ due to factors such as geographic location. As contextual nuances affect crime, it also affects responses to crime. For this reason, tailored crime responses are required based on the needs of the jurisdiction. In Trinidad and Tobago, the most commonly perpetrated crime is robbery. Due to its persistence, strategies to reduce incidents of robbery ought to be targeted and specific to the crime and the context of the locale within which it occurs. The need for such a response led to the creation of the A.S.I.A model for robbery management. This model drew upon the tenets of problem-oriented policing, the routine activities theory and the co-production of crime reduction. The A.S.I.A model acts as a guide to be used to conceptualize, implement and evaluate strategies to reduce robbery offences in Trinidad and Tobago, particularly in the face of limited resources. This chapter contributes to context specific literature on crime management from a social and criminological standpoint.

摘要
