This chapter examines the ways in which women’s health remains ‘woefully womb dependent’, considering the social, cultural, and theological expectation of the female reproductive body. Analysing recent developments in the discourse of abortionabortion, this chapter will argue that these expectations are often in fact obligations, which result in stark consequences for women’s health.
