Returning to the idea of women as ‘reproductive’ bodies, it examines how valuing women’s bodieswomen’s bodies on the productivity, or unproductivity, of their wombs creates stigmatising ideas of the ageing or menopausal female body as ‘barren’ and no longer ‘useful’.
