The concept of a circular economy has gained increasing attention as a viable approach to promoting sustainable development and addressing environmental challenges. This study adopts a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) as it critically analyze the current state of the circular economic practices in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) nations. The research process began with a meticulous search of databases, using specific search terms related to circular the economy, BRICS nations, and associated aspects like initiatives, challenges, policy implications, and environmental impact. The initial search yielded 1,210 articles, screened based on eligibility criteria. After a thorough screening process, 50 articles, ten from each BRICS nation, were deemed suitable for inclusion in this study. The review found that while BRICS nations have made progress in adopting circular economic practices, challenges that still need to be addressed include optimizing existing practices, addressing inequalities, and effectively utilizing emerging technologies. To overcome these challenges, the review recommends the development of tailored strategies that consider the specific needs and contexts of each country. Comprehensive policies are proposed to promote sustainable practices, enhance waste management systems, and incentivize the development of innovative business models. Knowledge sharing, capacity building, and fostering innovation are also emphasized as crucial drivers of the transition to a circular economy in the BRICS nations.

摘要
