This study addresses the challenges of reducing emissions from compression-ignition engines and explores the use of dual-fuel operation with diesel and gaseous fuels (LPG and CNG). The auto-ignition delay period, a critical parameter in combustion processes, was analyzed for a Perkins 1104D-E44TA engine. Comparative tests were conducted for dual-fuel and diesel-only modes, examining maximum combustion pressure and pressure rise rates. Results demonstrate the potential of gaseous fuels to improve engine emissions and efficiency while maintaining reliability. These findings support the use of alternative fuels as viable solutions to meet modern environmental standards.

摘要
