The issues of personnel shortages at Russian enterprises in the rocket and space industry are considered. The possibility of clustering employees according to their level of mastering professional competencies using simple neural network mapping methods is assessed. The relevance of the topic is due to the complexity of traditional assessment of employee competencies and the subsequent assessment of the enterprise's personnel potential, as well as the need to evaluate large amounts of data for decision-making when planning personnel measures concerning staff. The practical value of the results obtained in the course of the study lies in the effectiveness of the developed algorithms in the field of personnel potential assessment by automating routine processes for processing large amounts of data.
