The Concept of Rocket Evolution Through the Teaching Practice
摘要
The variety of designs of ballistic missiles located in the demonstration hall of rocket and space technology of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU) is shown. The intensive development of ballistic missiles in the leading countries of the world began immediately after the World War II. The development of a new industry required engineering personnel with the competencies in the field of rocket science. In the leading universities of the USSR, specialized departments have begun to be created to teach engineers in the design, manufacture and operation of missiles and rockets. Such departments were opened at BMSTU. After mastering the processes of manufacturing and launching missiles based on captured German technology, the stage of designing and manufacturing new ballistic missiles with improved characteristics began in the USSR. The same path was taken by the US rocket engineers. The flight range was increased, the power structure, the control system, the propulsion systems were improved, the specific mass characteristics of the structural elements were improved, more efficient fuel components were selected. In demonstration hall BMSTU, it was possible to assemble a unique exposition of rockets developed by almost all the main design bureaus involved in its creation. They differ in flight range, size, number of stages, type of start, fuel used, engine type, controls and many other features. This allows the BMSTU teachers to more fully reflect the concept of the evolution of rockets in the process of teaching students.
