Analysis of Motion Control Strategies for the Collocation of Geostationary Satellites in the Vicinity of the Point +95°
摘要
The features of collocation of geostationary spacecraft located near the 95° East longitude point are examined. This study was prompted by the close encounters in 2014 between the Russian spacecraft “Luch-5 V” and the satellites NSS-6 (Netherlands) and SES-8 (Luxembourg). Through simulation, the trajectories of these objects were calculated over a six-month period. Analysis revealed significant differences in the strategies employed for maintaining orbital positions of the satellites. Based on the measurements, it can be concluded that, in the context of the developing hazardous situation, the operators were unable to coordinate their motion control principles. To ensure safe usage of the shared area near this geostationary point, a scheme for calculating avoidance maneuvers is proposed.
