The paper presents the results of coupling test of the Avant Space GT50 propulsion system. The propulsion system included a high-frequency ion thruster with a high-voltage power supply and a high-frequency generator, a cathode-neutralizer, and a gas flow control unit. During the tests, the method of the system launching was worked out. The propulsion system was launched in four trial modes characterized by different values of the screen electrode potential. The operability of all components and the whole system has been confirmed. The values of the total ion current and total power consumption were obtained for four test modes.

摘要

The paper presents the results of coupling test of the Avant Space GT50 propulsion system. The propulsion system included a high-frequency ion thruster with a high-voltage power supply and a high-frequency generator, a cathode-neutralizer, and a gas flow control unit. During the tests, the method of the system launching was worked out. The propulsion system was launched in four trial modes characterized by different values of the screen electrode potential. The operability of all components and the whole system has been confirmed. The values of the total ion current and total power consumption were obtained for four test modes.
