A Multi-project Resource-Constrained Scheduling Model for Custom Manufacturing
摘要
Custom manufacturing is used in many areas of industry and services such as: architecture, construction, interior design, furniture making, motorsport, industrial automation, etc. The characteristic feature of this approach is the process of creating unique, made-to-order products or services that meet specific customer requirements. This approach is completely opposite to mass production (producing identical or similar items in large quantities). One way to manage this type of production is the project approach, where each order is treated as a separate project. The paper proposes an original model for planning and scheduling custom manufacturing in a multi-project environment while considering the limited resources available. The implementation of the model in a mathematical programming environment and computational experiments based on data from a real kitchen furniture factory are also presented.
