A Student Action Team (SAT) is a group of students who identify and work on a real issue of community interest as part of their curriculum. The students carry out research on the issue and develop solutions—either proposals for action by others or action that they, themselves, then take. This chapter describes the work of a SAT around the issue of sustainability to illustrate how it can help students to be better problem solvers, be more adaptable, as well as wiser, more ethical and moral decision makers.
