Firms increasingly rely on collaboration to pursue business sustainability, while Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors have become key indicators of sustainable performance for different stakeholders. However, the role of Collaborative Networks (CNs) in promoting firms’ ESG performance remains underexplored. For this purpose, this study conducts a Systematic Literature Review and develops a theoretical framework guided by the Context-Intervention-Mechanism-Outcome (CIMO) logic. Findings reveal that CNs contribute to promoting firms’ ESG performance, considering: (1) contextual factors, including types of collaborative relationships and industry sectors; (2) interventions, including jointly driving sustainability initiatives and digital transformation; (3) mechanisms, including ESG-oriented resource sharing and integration, inter-organizational systems and technologies (e.g., Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence); and (4) related outcomes of improved ESG performance, including reputation and competitiveness. The study contributes to the theory by bridging CNs and ESG literature. It offers future research directions and practical insights for stakeholders seeking to implement sustainable CNs.

摘要
