Drawing on insights from interviewees, it identifies leadership engagement as a critical success factor and describes various models of committee influence, ranging from advisory roles to formal decision-making bodies. The chapter highlights how CEO involvement, board-level attention, and interdepartmental collaboration enhance the legitimacy and execution of sustainability strategies. It also discusses governance challenges such as siloed responsibilities, regulatory pressures, symbolic gestures lacking substance, and the role of formal project offices in embedding sustainability into operations.
