Sustainable Performance in Industry 5.0: Optimizing Supply Chains with Innovative Decision Systems

Industry 5.0 as defined by the European commission integrates new technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced robotics, digital twin, and sustainability to improve the supply chain of companies. The challenges in this context concern how to efficiently integrate social, societal, environmental and economic aspects in the company digital transformation. Indeed, new technologies have been implemented with success in large companies but not in small and medium-sized enterprises. To promote the sustainable and digital transformation of company supply chain, this article focuses on the performance optimization through the integration of international standards (ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 26000, ISO 50000) and the development of an intelligent tool to support the transformation with innovative decisions. This paper presents a cocreation approach based on a sustainable and digital transformation methodology to ensure the company supply chain successful reorganization. It aims to define the sustainable and digital transformation process. Current supply chain optimization requirements are defined and integrated into a decision-aided tool using expert system and deep learning for measuring, evaluating and improving the company performance. The paper is organized as follows: after a literature review on sustainable supply chain, digital transformation, sustainable performance optimization and decision-aided tools, concepts and methodologies for the company transformation will be presented, the decision-aided tool supporting the sustainable and digital transformation of the company will be shown.
