Productivity Improvement of Transfer Systems for the Stamping Processes

Due to the rapid globalization of automobiles, the automotive industry has developed a high level of competitiveness among the companies that operate in this sector and, as a result, are constantly seeking to improve their processes to increase their productivity and the quality of the produced parts. The present work was carried out to improve the productivity of transfer systems in an automotive components’ company. The following improvements were developed: the design of a reduction in the size of overbars and the design of a new construction solution for transfer systems, this last involving the design and study of new components manufactured using 3D printing. The developed solutions made it possible to mitigate the occurrences that lead to low productivity, reducing the number of breakdowns and the need to adjust the transfer system during production.
