Social Dialogue
摘要
In many regards, Costa Rica stands as a model democracy in Latin America. As the oldest democracy in the region, it has achieved remarkable economic and social results. However, there are still challenges that need to be addressed in order to enhance the quality of its democracy. One crucial aspect is the promotion of social dialogue, which can serve as a complement to—or a corrective for—representative democracy. While representative democracy has its advantages, it also possesses inherent limitations (Petri, 2022a).
