Examinations in PBL constitute a significant component that drives students’ learning. This chapter provides the reader with a brief overview of the importance of examinations in PBL and how to construct a PBL examination adequately, from designing the examination structure to selecting the exam topics and conducting post-examination analyses. While examination administration methods in PBL can differ across healthcare profession institutions, this chapter outlines a distinctive approach that capitalizes on PBL’s inherent self-directed learning framework.
