This chapter focuses on constructing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) case to introduce a clinical case study as a means of learning the basic medical/health science disciplines. The case study facilitates an organized discussion of the integrated definitions, concepts, theories, and learning objectives. The detailed nature of the case study encourages exploration of the basic medical/health sciences as they apply to clinical case scenarios, fostering critical thinking and real-world applications. The progressive disclosure of the case study provides a timeline that reflects authentic clinical practice. Additionally, collaborative learning and self-directed learning are applied through this case study method by applying the PBL process. Constructing a facilitator guide and table of contents for each PBL case will also be discussed.
