This chapter situates refounding within an ‘Aggiornamento timeline,’ tracing historical patterns of refounding and resistance. While not an exhaustive history, it offers a pastoral-practical theological perspective on how the Church has continually sought to authentically engage the Word of God within each epoch, despite persistent restorationist movements seeking to regress ecclesial development.
