Genital Tract Development and Derangements
摘要
The development and differentiation of the female genital tract is guided by the complex interactions between genetic, epigenetic, endocrine, and paracrine mechanisms acting precociously during intrauterine life. Derangement in genital embryogenetics may lead to disorders in sex differentiation of single genital organs, with a normal female genotype, a male genotype or an altered genotype. Another possibility is malformations of internal genital organs (uterus, cervix) and of the vaginal tract in otherwise normal phenotype females.
