Fetal growth restriction (FGR) results from a failure of the fetus to achieve its genetically predetermined growth potential and is associated with increased perinatal morbidity and mortality. This chapter addresses the pathophysiology, screening, diagnosis, and management of FGR. It discusses clinical and ultrasound-based assessment techniques, standardized criteria for early and late-onset FGR, and intervention guidelines for optimizing outcomes.
