Medically assisted reproduction (MAR) involves various fertility treatments, such as ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Due to the widespread use of MAR, registry systems have been established in many countries, aiming to monitor and evaluate the safety and effectiveness of infertility treatments. Based on the most recent reports provided by the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) in the USA (2018) and the European IVF-monitoring Consortium (EIM) (2016), this chapter reviews the efficacy and safety of MAR outcomes, including live birth, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) and multiple births.
