The Role of CPQ Automation in Pricing Consistency and Revenue Forecasting
摘要
This article investigates CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) automation's ability to enhance the accuracy of price consistency and revenue forecast. Utilizing a simulated Sales Transactions and Product Configurations Dataset, this research measures significant factors such as price consistency, forecast accuracy, approval times, and revenue before and following CPQ implementation. Results show a mixed effect: forecast accuracy increased by 29.89%, approval times decreased by 36.52%, but price consistency decreased by a marginal 1.89%, and revenue decreased by 92.99% against expectations. These findings show that although CPQ systems enhance business efficiency and forecast reliability, cost benefits may be highly vulnerable to pricing strategies aligned with market conditions. This research identifies a need for additional dynamic pricing rules and flexible features in CPQ systems to enhance their revenue impact, delivering helpful information to firms contemplating sales automation optimization.
