Modes of Ventilation in Premature Babies in Respiratory Distress
摘要
A premature baby was born at 28 weeks of gestation was in respiratory distress soon after birth. The diagnosis was either IRDS, pulmonary hypoplasia, or congenital heart disease. An ultrasound at 25 weeks revealed normal cardiac structures. A trial of surfactant had no impact on respiratory distress. The baby was supported with a High Flow Nasal Cannula, which helped prevent the baby from having bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
