Fostering Industrial Symbiosis: Optimizing Resource Exchange for Enhanced Collaboration and Efficiency

Through cooperative efforts, enterprises may maximize resource exchange, reduce carbon emissions, and improve eco-efficiency thanks to the innovative concept of industrial symbiosis. This chapter emphasizes how closed-loop technologies assist businesses in reusing their byproducts, which lowers waste production and encourages sustainable resource management. Industries can improve energy efficiency and operational resilience while reducing environmental degradation by combining life cycle assessment (LCA) approaches with green technologies. Successful resource recovery models are illustrated by case studies from India and other countries, which indicate improvements in industrial ecology and decreases in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Through industrial symbiosis, businesses can develop strong partnerships, interchange materials, decrease pollution and waste, increase energy efficiency, promote sustainability, increase productivity, reuse resources, decrease prices, and comply with environmental standards.
