This chapter introduces a class project called Living with Difference, in which students engage in conversation to understand how someone with a differing political viewpoint thinks. This engagement resulted in finding commonalities—shared multiscalar networks—with the interviewee, even though they do not share the same network when it comes to the topic they chose, which in this chapter is gun control. This is a way for students to subvert the binary of political positions by blurring the boundary through focusing on other multiscalar networks that humanize each other. Its practical application in daily life, to reach out to those who may not share the same view, is also suggested.
