Office-Based Steroid Injection for Vocal Folds Nodules
摘要
Vocal fold nodules are the most common benign lesions of the vocal folds [1]. They are more prevalent in women than in men and may affect all ages [2, 3]. The presenting symptoms include hoarseness, difficulty projecting the voice, and voice fatigue. In professional voice users, complaints such as loss of range, inability to reach the high notes, and volume disturbance are often reported. Acoustic analysis invariably reveals an increase in perturbation parameters—jitter and shimmer—and an increase in noise-to-harmonics ratio (NHR) [4].
