This paper is dedicated to a low intrusive numerical strategy to alternatively use implicit and explicit solvers in structural mechanics. This communication aims at presenting this strategy and demonstrate its ability to introduce a pre-stress in structures prior to a transient dynamic loading. That is particularly the case of residual thermal stresses in laminated composites materials. Despite a wide literature about the subject, these initial stresses have to our knowledge, never been accounted for in explicit simulations.

摘要

This paper is dedicated to a low intrusive numerical strategy to alternatively use implicit and explicit solvers in structural mechanics. This communication aims at presenting this strategy and demonstrate its ability to introduce a pre-stress in structures prior to a transient dynamic loading. That is particularly the case of residual thermal stresses in laminated composites materials. Despite a wide literature about the subject, these initial stresses have to our knowledge, never been accounted for in explicit simulations.
