Erector Spinae Plane Block
摘要
The erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is a versatile and safe regional anaesthesia technique that provides multilevel analgesia by targeting the dorsal and ventral rami of spinal nerves. Local anaesthetic is deposited deep to the erector spinae muscles over the transverse processes, facilitating spread to the paravertebral and epidural spaces. Indications include thoracic, abdominal, spine, and lower limb surgeries, as well as chronic pain management. Compared to thoracic paravertebral blocks, ESPB has lower risks of pneumothorax, vascular puncture, and hypotension. Ultrasound guidance enhances precision, ensuring effective analgesia with minimal complications. Continuous catheter techniques enable prolonged analgesia for post-surgical pain management.
