Wrist Surgery
摘要
The wrist is supplied by dermatomes C5–T1. The common procedures around the wrist include ORIF distal radius/ulnar, trigger finger or carpal tunnel release, dupytren’s contracture release, metacarpophalangeal joint replacement (usually performed for rheumatoid arthritis), tendon grafts etc. Wrist surgery can be done by blocking the nerves with respect to the dermatomes involved. In additional to brachial plexus block, distal nerve blocks can be performed as the sole anaesthetic technique for minor hand or wrist procedures. The distal nerve blocks do not cover tourniquet pain and the intercostobrachial nerve must be blocked seperately. This chapter discusses the nuances of regional anesthesia for wrist surgery.
