This paper presents a three-dimensional numerical analysis of a tall industrial chimney subjected to wind-induced dynamic loads, considering soil-structure interaction effects. The wind load is assessed by combining the design code Eurocode 1, Part 1–4, for average wind velocity with the power spectrum approach for fluctuating wind velocity. The soil behavior is modeled using the Hardening Soil model with Small Strain Stiffness. The computed results, in terms of horizontal displacements and bending moments, are compared with the fixed base case and discussed.
