In the article described an experiment of impact on the vocational education method of metacognitive scaffolding, one of the most promising ways of teaching higher education students in terms of using artificial intelligence. In the article highlighted the relevance of involving students in the development of the university educational environment as a component of the process of preparation for the implementation of an individual trajectory of self-education throughout life.
