Parenting Skills Enhancement for Jewish Youth with ADHD and ODD

Clinicians who wish to work effectively with Jewish families experiencing parenting challenges due to disruptive behavior disorders need to understand Jewish cultural-ethnoreligious values and beliefs, which stem from antiquity and are relevant in daily lives. A brief overview of salient Jewish sources is provided, followed by a discussion of cultural-specific family values. Applications of common practice elements of social-learning and cognitive-behavioral therapy interventions include Parent Management Training, the Coping Power Program, and Unified Protocols for Emotional Disorders in Children and Adolescents are provided.
