Hyperviolence and Verisimilitude: Lighting Shadows
摘要
This chapter explores concepts related to the reconfiguration of social representations. The internal processes of objectification and anchoring of social representations of violence can be analysed both in the crystallisation of film images and in the representations held by the audience. These processes allow us to approach the idea of the narrative instance of films and the aestheticisation of violence. The analysis of audiences and context leads to the typification of social representation based on its internal structure and social ascription where hegemonic representations are side-to-side polemic representations of violence. Finally, the role of hyperviolence as a cinematic aesthetic that reconfigures the image of Latin America through cinematography spotlighting general tendencies and the verisimilitude of their narratives.
